Christian Murphy and Neil Barnes, co-founders of Respia, are on a mission to support people with big ideas looking to build businesses, develop new skills, and discover their true north. Respia represents the outcome of their vision - a new startup with ambitions to transform the job transition market. Christian and Neil approached us at an early stage in the conceptual development of their startup, enlisting our help in leading a brand discovery exercise before we created a full brand identity for Respia.
We believe in the "brand as iceberg" model -what you see on the surface is only a small fraction of the whole brand. Abovethe surface - the visual identity (logo, colours, fonts etc.). Below thesurface - the brand strategy. Positioning. Personality. Core values. The hiddendepths that define a brand's true essence. The aspects that provide realmeaning and influence our behaviour.
We were grateful for the opportunity to have completed afull brand design – the whole iceberg – for Respia.
Our branding draws inspiration from the company name,derived from 'respira,' meaning 'to breathe.' Reflecting this, our logo designencapsulates the very act of breathing, visualising the inhale and exhale toevoke a sense of calm and renewal. Encountering the brand elicits an emotionalresponse akin to a sigh of relief, as it resonates with individuals seeking abreath of fresh air in their professional journey.
