Privacy and cookies

Last updated 22 October 2026

This notice explains what Mammoth Creative Ltd (“we”, “us”) does with personal information collected through this website, mmmth.co.uk. We’ve tried to keep it short and in plain English. If you have any questions, email team@mmmth.co.uk.

Who we are

Mammoth Creative Ltd is a design studio based in Manningtree, Essex. We’re registered in England and Wales, company number 12857880. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the personal information described here.

The short version

  • We only collect what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical logs every website needs.
  • We use it to reply to you and, if we work together, to deliver your project.
  • We don’t sell it, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

What we collect and why

When you fill in our enquiry form. We collect your name, email address and anything else you choose to tell us, such as your business name, phone number, what you need, your budget and timings. We use this to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to plan and deliver your project. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

When you message us on WhatsApp. Our “Chat on WhatsApp” buttons open WhatsApp with a message ready for you to send. If you send it, we’ll see your phone number, your WhatsApp name and your messages, and we’ll use them to reply to you. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and its own privacy policy applies to how it handles your messages. Our lawful basis is the same as for the enquiry form.

When you email us. We use your email address and message to reply, on the same basis.

When you sign up for journal updates. We use your email address to send occasional news about our work and new articles. Our lawful basis is your consent, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also just ask us to remove you.

When you browse. Our website host, Netlify, automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Website statistics. If we turn on visitor statistics, we’ll use a privacy-friendly tool (Plausible or Fathom) that doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you across other websites and doesn’t collect information that identifies you. It tells us things like how many people visited and which pages they read, so we can improve the site.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your information or share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted services that process information on our behalf:

  • Netlify hosts this website and receives our enquiry and sign-up forms.
  • Google Workspace handles our email.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.
  • Adobe Fonts serves one of the typefaces on this site. To deliver the font, Adobe receives your IP address and the page address, but it doesn’t set cookies or track you. Our other fonts are hosted on our own site.
  • Plausible or Fathom, if we’ve switched on visitor statistics, as described above.

Some of these companies are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, they protect it with the safeguards required under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK’s international data transfer addendum.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or with our accountant and professional advisers when we need to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to two years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. If an enquiry turns into a project, we keep project records for as long as we need them for legal, tax and accounting reasons, usually six years. If you unsubscribe from journal updates, we stop emailing you straight away.

Cookies and similar technology

This site doesn’t use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so you won’t see a cookie banner.

The only thing we store on your device is a single setting in your browser’s local storage called mmmth-intro-seen. It remembers that you’ve already seen the opening animation on our homepage, so it doesn’t play every time. It contains no personal information, isn’t shared with anyone and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

A few of our journal articles include YouTube videos. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube doesn’t store cookies on your device just because you’ve visited the page. If you press play, Google’s privacy policy applies to that video.

If you log in to the editing area of the site (only our team does this), the login service sets a cookie to keep you signed in. Ordinary visitors never see or receive it.

If we ever add anything that needs your permission, we’ll ask first and update this page.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that’s wrong;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (for example journal updates).

To do any of these, email team@mmmth.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this notice

We’ll update this page if anything changes, and the date at the top will always show when it was last updated.
