Why Mammoth

We’re Stew and Chris, two designers who met on the graphic design degree at the University of Essex and started Mammoth in 2020. You deal with the two of us from the first chat to the final files. No account managers, no juniors, nothing lost in a handover.
Local, but not only local
We’re based in Manningtree and work with businesses right across the region. We’ve designed two new brands for Hoskyn’s, a Maldon pie maker with over 150 years of history; a café brand for Coffee at the Close in Chelmsford; and an award-winning identity for Staithe ‘N’ Willow, a riverside bistro on the Norfolk Broads. We also work with start-ups and charities nationally, like Respia and Stepping Out with Carers.

- Design. We present a clear route (or two), explain the thinking and refine it with you.
- Rollout. Final files, a brand guide, and help putting it to work across everything you use.

Good questions
How much does a new brand cost?
Every brand project gets a fixed price before we start, based on what you actually need. A logo refresh costs a lot less than a full identity with strategy and rollout. Tell us your budget and we'll be honest about what it can get you, and we're flexible about how you pay.
How long does a branding project take?
Most brand projects take four to six weeks from the first chat to final files. Bigger rebrands with naming or lots of rollout can take a little longer. If you have a launch date, tell us early and we'll plan around it.
Do you only work with businesses in Essex?
No. We're based in Manningtree and love working with Essex and Suffolk businesses, many of whom we can meet in person, but we also work with clients across the UK and Europe.
What do I get at the end?
All your logo files in every format you'll need, your colour and type choices, and a brand guide that shows how to use it all. You own everything outright.
Do you work with trades businesses?
Yes. We've branded scaffolders, decorators, flooring fitters and fit-out firms. We started a sister studio, The Trade Marks, with fixed packages priced for trades only.
